The Heart Of California Weight Pullers began in late 2003. A few of us started kicking the idea around because of the lack
of weight pulls in our area. By 2004, we were on a quest to form this club. Along the way, we lost some members as well as
gaining some. By 2005 we were recognized officially by the UKC. It was sweet for the few of us that were still there at the
end.
Our members are few and spread from Fresno to Oakland and all the way to Washinton. We consist of Experienced dog handlers
to novices. Our main goal is to have fun.
Because of conflicting schedules with each other and the fact that we live so far away from one another, we usually only have
two or three pull weekends a year. Hopefully, as our club grows we will be able to put on more pulls.
Unlike
a lot of clubs, we do not sell memberships. We strive in being a fun, controversy free club without polictics. Memberships
are earned, not sold.
